Team Extreme!

Meet David

Hi Everyone,

On November 2nd, 2025, I will be running my second (and certainly last) New York City Marathon in support of a great organization: Extreme Kids and Crew. The organization creates fun and brave spaces that nurture a sense of belonging and community for neurodivergent youth. You can learn more about their mission here.

Please consider helping Extreme Kids & Crew continue to have a great impact on our community by donating to my fundraising effort.

Thank you for the support! - David

Meet Kelsey

This fall, I will be lacing up my shoes to run for Extreme Kids and Crew in the 2025 NYC Marathon. I am truly both honored and excited to represent an organization that ensures to empower children with disabilities and their families. During my first year of physical therapy school, I was a volunteer for a local adaptive sports program in Boston, where I would help children with disabilities participate in sports such as track and field. It was truly amazing to see how happy the children and their caregivers were during these sessions! It’s great that I can now be able to support another local organization that also cultivates fun learning environments. Throughout my pediatrics course during physical therapy school, it was emphasized how engaging in inclusive play promotes physical, social, emotional, and mental health, and your donation will help achieve this goal. Although this race will require me to take many steps, your contribution of any amount is one step closer to giving these incredible kids a space that allows them to play, create, and grow. Please join me in supporting Extreme Kids and Crew—together, we can make meaningful differences in these children’s lives. Thank you for your generosity and support!

Meet Sara

On Sunday, November 2nd, I’m running my first marathon in support of Extreme Kids and Crew. Their mission is to cultivate welcoming, accessible spaces where young people with disabilities and their families create a supportive community through the arts, play, and conversation. Read more about their mission here.

As the family member of someone on the Autism spectrum, I’ve seen how important inclusive spaces can be in supporting neurodivergent kids and their families, and I wish we had an organization like EK&C in our hometown. It was hard to see such a smart and kind kid struggle to fit into spaces that were not designed with kids like him in mind. Every kid deserves a community where they can flourish, and I am honored to be fundraising for EK&C to help them continue to make that possible in NYC.   Please donate whatever you can!

Meet Christian

I am honored to support Extreme Kids & Crew, an amazing non-profit organization in New York dedicated to empowering neurodivergent children and their families. Their commitment to fostering confidence and cultivating a strong sense of community through arts and play programs is truly inspiring. These efforts are vital in helping these kids to live healthy and fulfilling lives.

To contribute to their incredible mission, I am running the NYC 2025 marathon to raise funds and awareness as part of their charity initiative.

Thank you for your support in making a difference!

Meet Celia

On Sunday, 2nd November, I’ll be running the New York Marathon in support of Extreme Kids & Crew—an incredible charity that creates welcoming, accessible spaces for young people with disabilities and their families. Through play, art, and community, they provide the kind of support that can truly change lives.

I know firsthand how important communities like this are. My uncle Jason, who sadly passed away, found joy, friendship, and space at similar social clubs in the UK. These spaces gave him a sense of belonging, and he even met his long-term partner through one of them. I’m running in his memory and to help ensure that more children and families have access to the same kind of support that meant so much to him.

If you’re able, please consider donating - every contribution, big or small, helps Extreme Kids & Crew continue their amazing work.

Thank you so much for your support! -Celia

Meet Maia

I’m beyond excited to be running the NYC Marathon again this year with Extreme Kids and Crew. This is my second time going for the marathon, and I’m even more determined and stronger than before. Last year, I had to sit it out due to a fractured sacrum, but that setback only fueled my drive to come back stronger.

As someone who’s spent years working with special education students both in the classroom and as an athletic coach, I’m especially proud to be part of this team. The resilience and spirit of the kids we support inspire me every day, and running for such an incredible cause means the world to me. I can’t wait to cross that finish line, knowing I’m not just running for myself, but for all the amazing families we serve.

Each year, we invite a team of community members to run the TCS New York City Marathon with us, and their fundraising efforts are instrumental in not just sustaining our programming, but also expanding awareness of our work and cultivating a sense of community pride.

In 2024, our team raised over $25,000 the highest amount ever raised. We could not have done this without the help of our supporters, near and far. Thank you to everyone who also came out to cheer on our runners!

Extreme gratitude to our board member, Shell Lee, for his leadership, and gigantic cheers to the board and EKC community for their support. Check out photos from our weekend below and see you next year!
