Gamer/Dungeon Master for Neurodivergent Youth (Ages 12-17)
Part-Time – Contract Position
Position Summary:
Extreme Kids & Crew seeks a passionate and skilled Gamer/Dungeon Master (DM) to lead engaging, inclusive gaming sessions for neurodivergent youth aged 12-17. The ideal candidate will create a fun, supportive environment fostering creativity, teamwork, and self-expression through tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) like Dungeons & Dragons and other collaborative games like Roblox and Minecraft.
Position details:
Status: Independent Contractor
Reports to: Operations and Program Specialist
Schedule: Work from home Position/Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
Compensation: $20 and hour - 6 hours a week
Key Responsibilities:
● Design and lead immersive TTRPG campaigns tailored to the interests and abilities of neurodivergent youth.
● Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive gaming environment where all participants feel valued and heard.
● Adapt game mechanics and storytelling to accommodate different neurodivergent needs and communication styles.
● Collaborate with EKC staff and families to ensure programming aligns with participants’ strengths and goals.
● Encourage social interaction, problem-solving, and teamwork during sessions.
● Maintain professionalism, clear communication, and reliable attendance.
Qualifications:
● Experience as a Dungeon Master or similar leadership role in TTRPGs (Dungeons & Dragons experience strongly preferred).
● Demonstrated ability to work effectively with neurodivergent youth and/or experience in inclusive education or programming.
● Strong storytelling, improvisation, and creative thinking skills.
● Patience, adaptability, and excellent interpersonal communication.
● Familiarity with virtual gaming tools (e.g., Roll20, Discord, Zoom) and in-person gaming best practices.
● Familiarity with virtual games, such as Roblox, and Minecraft, and knows how to manage gaming tech and know how to use Zoom Meetings.

Database Assistant
Part-Time – Contract Position
Position Summary:
The Database Assistant supports the back-end data needs of Extreme Kids & Crew by ensuring that program attendance, and constituent information is accurately collected, organized, and entered into Little Green Light (LGL). This role is essential to keeping our records up to date, supporting program evaluation, and helping the team make informed decisions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with spreadsheets, and able to maintain consistent data practices.
Position Details:
Status: Independent Contractor (with possibility of permanent role)
Reports to: Program and Operations Specialist
Schedule: In person, 2 times a week, at EKC’s offices at the Brooklyn Children Museum.
Compensation: $16.50/8 hours a week
Key Responsibilities:
● Import, export, and clean data from spreadsheets and digital attendance sheets.
● Enter attendance records, program participation, and visit counts into Little Green Light.
● Create and update constituent profiles, including contact information and demographic details.
● Organize large sets of data to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems.
● Run basic reports in LGL as needed to support staff, board meetings, and program evaluation.
● Support quarterly data pulls and summaries for newsletters, grant reporting, and website updates.
● Communicate with program staff to collect missing information or clarify inconsistencies.
● Attend quarterly staff meetings.
● Maintain confidentiality and follow data security practices at all times.
Qualifications:
● Experience working with spreadsheets (Google Sheets, Excel) and strong attention to detail.
● Familiarity with databases; LGL experience is a plus but not required (training provided).
● Ability to follow data-entry protocols and maintain consistent accuracy.
● Strong organizational and communication skills.

Director of Programs
Part-Time
Position Summary:
The Director of Programs will develop and sustain high-quality recreational and community-based programs that advance EKC’s mission to create accessible, judgment-free spaces where neurodivergent young people, their friends, and families can connect, play, and thrive. This leader will center lived experience, cultural humility, and trauma-informed practice in all aspects of program design and delivery. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Director of Programs is a key member of EKC’s leadership team. They will translate organizational vision into actionable, high-impact programs while building, mentoring, and supporting a growing program staff. Success in this role requires strong people management skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic, evolving organization.
Position Details:
Status: Part-time, 20 hours per week
Compensation: $40,000–$48,000 annually
Location: Hybrid, based in Brooklyn
Schedule: Occasional evening and weekend hours required

Program Development & Strategy:
Design, implement, and manage a multi-year program strategy and annual program calendar that supports both virtual and in-person offerings.
Expand program capacity to serve a growing number of participants across New York City.
Ensure programs are responsive, accessible, and informed by participant feedback, data, and community voice.
Partner with internal teams to develop new initiatives that advance EKC’s mission while supporting long-term sustainability.
Community Partnerships & External Relations:
Cultivate and manage relationships with community partners, including the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, schools, arts organizations, and other program collaborators.
Collaborate with community leaders to ensure programming remains relevant, culturally responsive, and community-informed.
Represent EKC in external meetings, community forums, and partnership discussions as needed.
Program Administration & Operations:
Develop and manage program budgets in collaboration with the Director of Finance and Executive Director.
Oversee vendor, site, and contractor relationships to ensure smooth and safe program operations.
Ensure compliance with funder requirements, partner agreements, and applicable regulatory standards.
Coordinate program evaluation efforts and use insights to strengthen program design and outcomes.
Track and analyze program participation data to inform reporting, evaluation, and strategic decision-making.

3–5 years of demonstrated nonprofit program development and leadership experience.

Grant Writer & Prospect Research Consultant
Contract Position
Position summary:
Extreme Kids & Crew (EKC) seeks an experienced Grant Writer & Prospect Research Consultant to support institutional fundraising efforts focused on organizations and programs serving people with disabilities and the arts. This contract role works closely with EKC’s Executive Director and staff to identify funding opportunities, cultivate relationships with funders, and develop strong grant proposals and reports.
Position Details:
Status: Independent Contractor (with possibility of permanent role)
Reports to: Executive Director
Schedule: Flexible; weekly check-ins required
Compensation: $2,500–$4,000 per month, based on experience
Key Responsibilities:
(Includes other duties considered necessary within the scope of responsibilities)
Prospect Research:
Conduct ongoing research on foundations, corporations, and government agencies that fund disability- and arts-focused programs.
Prepare and share weekly prospect profiles, including funder focus areas, contact information, recent giving levels, application guidelines, deadlines, and past grants to comparable organizations.
Add qualified prospects to EKC’s institutional giving tracker.
Review prospects referred by EKC staff and assess fit as grant-ready, non-prospect, or needing cultivation.
Outreach & Cultivation:
Create in-depth briefing memos for high-priority prospects to support cultivation calls, meetings, and Zooms, as directed by the Executive Director.
Conduct email and phone outreach to lower-priority prospects to confirm funding priorities, eligibility, deadlines, submission strategies, and feedback on declined requests.
Grant Writing:
Collaborate with the Executive Director and staff to identify annual and ongoing program funding priorities.
Develop an organizational case statement to serve as a reusable template for proposal language.
Draft proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports, providing outlines or drafts at least two weeks ahead of deadlines.
Grants Management:
Maintain EKC’s institutional giving tracker, including deadlines, submission status, new prospects, and reporting requirements.
Attend staff meetings monthly to stay informed about programs, outcomes, and new initiatives.
Meet weekly with the Executive Director to set priorities and review progress.
Coordinate with EKC staff to ensure all grant components (budgets, attachments, program materials) are completed on time.

Program Support Associate
Part-Time – Contract Position
Position Overview:
The Program Support Associate provides flexible, reliable coverage across these programs, helping ensure consistency and high-quality experiences whenever additional support is needed. This role is ideal for someone creative, patient, playful, and eager to deepen their practice working with neurodivergent youth. Reporting to the Program Manager of Library Services and Community Partnerships, the Program Support Associate supports a wide range of interest-driven, sensory-friendly, movement, and social programs across multiple in-person and virtual sites.
Position Details:
Status: Part-Time Employee
Reports to: Program Manager of Library Services & Community Partnerships
Location: Brooklyn-based role with travel throughout NYC
Schedule: Approximately 10 hours per week
Compensation: $20/hour (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
Program Support & Coverage:
Provide flexible coverage and hands-on support across programs, including arts & crafts, sensory play, movement & music sessions, virtual clubs, and one-time events.
Step in to provide program coverage when staff are absent, or additional support is needed.
Follow pre-developed curriculum and activity plans to help maintain consistency, structure, and a supportive routine for participating youth.
Assist with setting up program spaces, preparing materials, supporting transitions, and helping clean up after sessions.
Support facilitators, interns, and volunteers during sessions to ensure programs run smoothly.
Participant Engagement:
Build positive, caring relationships with youth and foster joyful, inclusive peer connections.
Support participants in engaging with activities in ways that honor their interests, communication styles, and sensory needs.
Help create a warm, welcoming environment where all children and families feel seen, safe, and supported.
Family & Community Communication:
Communicate warmly and professionally with families, caregivers, partner site staff, volunteers, and community members.
Serve as a kind, respectful, mission-aligned representative of Extreme Kids & Crew at all program sites.
Safety, Reliability & Team Collaboration:
Prioritize the safety and well-being of all participants by following organizational policies, procedures, and supervision protocols.
Maintain reliable, timely communication regarding scheduling, availability, and any program issues.
Collaborate with facilitators, interns, and staff to support smooth program operations.
