2018 Felix Award Recipients
AMY HERZOG & SAM GOLD
Amy Herzog's play 4000 Miles won the Obie for Best New American Play and was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize. Her newest play, Mary Jane, is a searing, deep and beautiful story of a single Queens mother caring for a severely disabled child. It debuted at the New York Theater Workshop in 2017.
Sam Gold is the Obie and Tony Award-winning director of the musical
Fun Home. His 2017 Broadway production of The Glass Menagerie featured an actor with muscular dystrophy and hones in on the role that disability plays in this American classic. In the words of Broken & Woken's Liz Wollman: "This is a production that really gets it."
And they are married! Together they will receive the first Double Felix Double Helix Award.
