Mindful Movement with Jolene

Saturdays, 12:00 - 12:45 pm | Red Hook Space

Mindful Movement with Orit & Jennifer

Saturdays, 12:00 - 12:45 pm | Ridgewood Space

Mindful Movement brings elements of story-telling, dance, and imaginative play to the practice of mindfulness-based yoga. Children, alongside their parents, will connect with their bodies and breath through "story sequences," games, and one-on-one work with their caregiver.

Class will begin with light stretching to cultivate focus. Games, prop play, and obstacle courses will follow to get everyone moving, while building gross motor skills. We will finish the day with a quiet meditation for parents and kids to come together for sensory-based relaxation time, followed by a mini-Open Play.

Drumalong with Ivan

Saturdays, 11:00 - 11:45 am | Ridgewood Space

Drumalong is all about getting kids moving to rhythms from around the world. Children sing along to songs that they know and love while exploring new rhythms. This class encourages kids to step out of their comfort zone with opportunities to participate and create at each child's own pace.

Families are encouraged to sing, dance, play percussion, and most importantly, to have a great time!

Saturdays, 11:00 am - 11:45 am | Red Hook Space

MusicWorks brings out the best in kids with disabilities by involving them in an interactive and dynamic music experience. This tremendously fun class helps participants build confidence, make friends, and experience the joy of music in an accepting and supportive environment.

Participants sing and dance along, make suggestions for songs and lyrics, and move around the gym as they need to throughout class.

Space to move around, and the emphasis on meeting each child on their level, make this an ideal class for sensory seekers as well as those who prefer to participate primarily through observing.
